So it came up in General chat that the boost rules are a bit contradictory in terms of how they work in regards to 'Unique Boosts' and 'Boosting to 'X' tier.
The following rules I'm referring to can be found here.
Particularly the following paragraphs.
Now the second paragraph does attempt to clarify that unique boosts do not help in regard to boosting to X tier in those stats. However because of the similar word usage in what is considered 'base' stats for terms of boosting and 'base' stats for the purpose of boosting to X tier confusion and contradictory rules come into play. Particularly when one looks at the Eight Inner Gates and specifically the 'Eighth Gate'
Due to the clarification that Unique Boosts do not help in regards to breaking into X tier when attempting to do so from a stat lower than S then the bolded and coloured text of Eighth Gate becomes largely ineffective.
My suggestion is to officially adopt the term 'Natural' that we've all been using anyway. Along with a clarifying statement as to the difference between 'base' and 'natural' for the purposes of unique boosts. Such changes would look something this in my mind.
This would of course require some edits to Gates which would include at the very least the following changes to the Eighth Gate
The following rules I'm referring to can be found here.
Particularly the following paragraphs.
- Paragraph One:
Unique boosters are different from this in that they usually improve the parameters of the body either without causing physical strain to the body or doing it in such a way that forces greater heights upon it. These techniques are extremely rare, but they are the exception to the two tier stacking limit. When using a unique booster, the stat that is boosted is considered to have its base level increased. So, when that character with the D-Tier Strength uses a unique booster to bring that Strength on up to B-Tier, it can now use generic boosters to hit as high as S-Tier Strength!
- Paragraph Two:
Now, you may have seen mentioned in some places on this site an X-Tier of stats. There are a certain few techniques that are tailored to bring a person up to those levels, but this is not easily done. Your character's base stat must be S-Tier in order to hit X-Tier. Unique Boosts do not help in this regard, it must be the actual and complete base stat without any form of boosting. Once you have a base of S, it is possible to boost your character's stat to X-Tier, however doing so requires two tiers worth of boosts. Similar to how going from A to S requires two tiers, the same is true if one wishes to go from S to X. The only difference between the former and the latter is that even a Unique Boost cannot lessen the boosting difference to 1 Tier. For those without a base of S, any boosts that would bring a stat beyond S++ are nullified unless the technique or ability specifically states that it can do so.

- Eighth Gate:
The Eighth Gate is the Gate of Death and is also known as the Eight Gates Release Formation. This gate is located over the heart and requires the user to penetrate their heart with chakra to force the gate open. Once this gate is opened, there is no turning back. The only outcome can be death for the user, making it a very potent technique. The amount of power granted is far greater than that provided by the Seventh Gate, increasing the user's base Strength and Speed by one tier before applying the rest of the boosts from the other Seven Gates. The user's stamina is increased by an additional 20 points and is fully refreshed. The maximum boost becomes X++, attainable only if the user's base in the boosted stat(s) is(are) S rank. Their blue aura turns red as their blood begins to boil out of their skin from the chakra. This gives them the appearance of a demon, as this red aura curls around their body like fire and gives them a more evil visage. (Str: 3 Tiers ++, Spd: 3 Tiers++, Con: 2 Tiers++, Sta: +100)
