Igniting the Spark

It had been a while since Maverick was able to train alone. He had been out with his Sensei Ren running a few missions. He had also helped save a village from a camp of bandits. He was glad to be back out into the forests near the village. He missed the sounds of the birds high up in the canopy. The smells or the leaves and flowers as the winds steadily blew. He was a stronger man today than he had been just weeks ago. The steps he had taken, the way he was shown by Ren had proven to be the greatest boost he could have believed.

His prowess with katon jutsu was becoming increasingly more powerful under Ren's tutelage. However the one thing he could not teach was the secrets of fuuton jutsu. That was for Maverick to learn on his own. As he had done many times before he dropped his pack to the ground. Kneeling down beside it he loosened the leather strap opening the burlap pack before retrieving a scroll from inside. As it unraveled he stopped it on the technique he wished to learn. This jutsu needed no hand seals just a formation of wind in ones palm.

Maverick held his right hand out before him exhaling a small amount of wind laced chakra into his palm. He focused watching it rotate forming a small orb in his hand. He arm pulled back as he launched the orb full force at the trunk of a tree thirty meters away. As the orb flew he blew two more orbs into existence launching them quickly behind. The orbs hit the bark tearing through causing three small holes reaching through the tree's thick trunk.

Jutsu Learned:

He was surprised the tree had not fallen due to the damage it had sustained. Maverick had seen a jutsu in the scroll that might be able to fix that issue. Retrieving the scroll from the ground he looked for the technique he had seen earlier. "Ah here it is." He studied the jutsu for a few moments noting this also has no hand seals. It would take focus and concentration when he used these skills to make sure he made no mistake. Confusion and the wrong application of chakra could be a dangerous combination in battle. This jutsu required him to funnel his wind chakra into some weapon be it a kunai or shuriken.

Maverick knelt back down returning the scroll to his pack before pulling out a few shuriken he bought from Kiyoshi's. They were new titanium shuriken and they felt different than the cold steel he was used to. The weapon twirled between his fingers before he snapped his wrist flicking the throwing star at the same tree. It stuck with a dull thunk bringing a smile to his face. He held the second shuriken in his hand channeling his chakra before flicking his wrist again. A blue aura formed over the weapon making it look twice its original size. As the wind blades met the tree trunk they tore through it before slowly stopping mid cut.

Jutsu Learned:

The tree still stood, the sturdiness of the trunk surprised Maverick. He walked over examining the damage wondering how it still stood. The three orbs had torn straight through but in different and randomly placed spots. The shuriken had cut through but only half way before the weight of the trunk stopped the spinning blades. Maybe if he would have aimed for one of the holes the tree would have been felled. Maybes would not matter in the real world, he needed to be ready for anything and everything. He would not let frustration cloud his mind as he walked back over to the scroll of Fuuton jutsu.

This jutsu actually required a few hand seals to complete with multiple small mixtures of wind release. Closing the scroll Maverick looked over to the tree still standing in defiance. He practiced the seals first making sure he knew the correct combination. Next he would focus on mixing his chakra into multiple small formation. When he thought himself ready his hands moved, Rat → Rabbit → Dog. He focused mixing seven focuses of fuuton chakra before exhaling them out in rapid succession. The small masses of wind chakra slammed into the trunk of the thick tree leaving noticeable dents and splinters. Maverick shook his head returning to gather his things before returning back to the village.

Later that evening the tree fell.

It had been a while since Maverick had gotten some time to train alone. He had been busy with missions for the hidden leaf that he just was not able to get away. This early morning he had been determined to set out as soon as he had awoken and gotten ready. His backpack was filled with rations for a few days out here camping, a scroll with a tent sealed away and a scroll with the jutsu he was out here to learn. After a few hours hiking through the dense forest foliage he found the perfect spot. Dropping his pack onto the ground he retrieved the scroll of wind techniques.

He looked over the scroll disregarding the first three jutsu seeing as he had already learned them. Wind Release: Pressure Damage was next on the menu for today. It looked to be a jutsu that condensed a tornado until it hit the target releasing the built up wind pressure. Maverick made the Ram seal summoning the spiraling wind vortex before taking his hands slowly closing them shrinking the wind. As the tornado shrunk he released his hands sending the spinning column of wind forward. The vortex surged forward colliding with a thick tree before returning to its original size releasing the mighty torrent of wind.

Maverick had to focus hard to keep from being blown away as clumps of dirt and rock flew past him.

Jutsu Learned:

After many moments of the surging winds Maverick felt he might be blown away. His mind flashed with regret wondering if he had done to much when he condensed the tornado. As the chakra in the soles of his boots began to waver the winds started to die down. The dust settled around him as the sound of small branches and pebbles broke the silence. He exhaled replaying the events in his mind, it had to be to much chakra put into the technique. Shaking his head Maverick looked around realizing his bag and the scroll were now gone.

After what seemed like hours Maverick was able to find his bag luckily everything was still intact. A sigh escaped his lips as he fumbled around pulling the Wind Jutsu scroll back out. He made a subconscious decision to try and find a jutsu that would not be as destructive. Returning the scroll to his bag and making sure it was latched tight Maverick made the Bird seal before inhaling deeply. As he exhaled dozens of small masses of air flew from his mouth. As the air bullets raced across the open area before him he turned his head sharply spraying the affected area.

Jutsu Learned:

Maverick sat eating a small meal of bread and dried meat washing it down with simple water. He had come out here to train alone, roughing it out in the wilderness. His supplies would last today and tomorrow but he would need to gather or hunt for anything he would need later. The splintered wood around him would be easy enough to use for kindling and he knew he had passed a few berry bushes on his way out here. Finishing his meal Maverick would make sure to tuck and small amount of trash in to his pack. It was time to practice the last jutsu for today before he made camp.

The scroll had shown no hand seals needed for this jutsu just a need to cover ones fists with wind style chakra. It was used almost like a set of dusters adding power to ones strikes. Any advantage Maverick could utilize in hand to hand combat would be welcome. As he stood there in the middle of the clearing he focused his chakra around his closed fists. It almost looked like the famed Twin Lion Fist of the Hyuga but Maverick knew it was no where near that powerful. For a while he spent his time striking trees and rocks leaving small cracks and fissures in the area around him.

Zenaku had been taking a casual stroll though the Forrest as it seemed like ages since he last did this. The wind blowing though his hair and against his face. The smell of pine trees filled the nostrils of his nose. As he was walking he heared some noise so he made his way towards the location. When he reached the area he made sure to conceal  his presence as he watched from behind a tree. Being a memember of the anbu black opps and a jonin hiding from some one was childs play. 

He could see a young man standing in the middle of the field and it looked as if he was busy  learning  some wind style jutsu. This brought back some old memorys of when he was learning the wind style jutsu. As the the young man was leaving zenaku stepped out from behind the tree. 

" your not finished training already are ya. " 

Zenaku said with a smirk. Zenaku was about 5:8 and wear all black. He wear a long sleeved jacket that the sleeves was hanging a few inches off his hands. On the back of the jacket was the uchiha logo. He had black eyes and dark hair, his hair was short and slicked back but was like a raven. He wear black pants with boots that let the toes be exposed.

Maverick was just about to head home when the man walked out from the trees. He looked familiar, not as someone he knew personally but someone he had seen of great importance.  In an instant he remembered who stood before him. Maverick dropped to his knees leaning forward putting his head to the forest floor.

"Lord Zenaku it is a great surprise and honor to see you up and about again, I hope your recovery has been going well." He was glad his face was to the floor hiding his embarrassment.

He sat up nodding his head before returning to his feet dusting himself off.

"Yes sir I was just about to head home I have an important date tonight..." He stopped, the ex clan leader probably had no care on his personal life.

"I can stay a little longer" He looked around at the minor destruction he had caused.

"I had just been learning some B-Rank Fuuton jutsu i had read about."

Zenaku could not help but laugh as he watched the young shinobi get onto his hands and knees with his head bowed to the ground. It had been a very long time since he last heard some one call him lord. In fact he was not even sure if he was still the leader of the uchiha and if not he needed to meet the new leader. 

" please raise your head kid, im no one of great importance just a jonin doing his job of protecting his village. And thanks my recoveryis coming along very nicely. But what is your name" 

Zenaku said. The boy stood up and told zenaku about his date tonight. But then he stoped and said he could stay a little while longer. 

" i noticed that you was learning some wind style jutsu. If you need some help with that i do not mind teaching you."
