Helping Out

mission info:

The girl would bounce down the road, an overfull head of disheveled brown hair bobbing in rhythm. She had traversed this street many times before on her way home from the academy, weaving through the crowd of lively faces was second nature to her.

Today was unlike the rest though.
She wasn't coming home from the academy or going home at all. She was in fact on her way to perform a mission.
A proud grin dressed her face as she arrived at her destination. With one last graceful hop, landing her right at the entrance of the home, she began pounding on the door. She would just barely wait a couple seconds before continuing to assault the barrier, over and over again until it was finally opened by an elderly man.
"Ah," he said raspily. "You must be the gen-"
"Hello, sir!" Kysaka interrupted, springing up and down on her feet with wide eager eyes. "I'm here to help you clean up around here!"
It was only a D rank mission but Kysaka viewed it as so much more. A way to help people, a way to bring smiles to faces and one of the first steps towards her path to becoming a legendary ninja.
The old man gave a tired smile upon seeing her before stepping to the side of the doorway to let her enter.
"You really shouldn't knock like that, young lady. you almost gave me a heart attack."
Kysaka bounded in. "Sorry!" She said, not really paying mind to his suggestion.
"So where do i start?"

She was given a broom and a feather duster and within a few minutes had finished sweeping to Okimura's satisfaction. Afterwards she helped him clean up and take out the "trash", mostly just trinkets, photos, writings and notes he'd decided he no longer wanted, many of which Kysaka pocketed for herself. She found something about erasing history quite mournful even if it was only recent and inconsequential history. Once the man expressed his contentment with Kysaka's work it was onto cleaning the surfaces. Getting them looking like they were straight out of a factory was child's play for her. She didn't seem like it but she was quite booksmart for her age, her chemistry knowledge made the task a walk in the park. By carefully mixing together the few products he had lying around Kysaka was able to create a concoction that left the interior of the old man's home sparkling while also teaching him something aswell.
After all, a little self sufficiency never hurt.

With that the girl had finished her mission. The two shared a handshake before parting ways, Okimura paying many thanks and Kysaka assuring him that it was her pleasure.
All in another day's work.
