    Her Apartment

Post by Cherry Blossom on Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:08 am

Akira darts along the outermost sections of the innards of Kirigakure's residential district, moving from alley to alley and roof to roof. With each passing of an establishment, the Sakura picks up the pace, up until she finds just what she was looking for. She slips off of the side of the roof and lands on the ground half-elegantly, darting along the street at this point. The female comes to a stop directly in front of a small apartment complex, blocked off by a black gate with white fencing around it. She runs her hands through her pockets, before revealing a small key chain with two keys, ambling on forward. Shortly after testing each key, she unlocks with the second, and heads on in, closing the gate behind her.

What she was met with was a relatively small garden, along with several benches and what not on the interior of the complex, followed by each row of apartments. Each apartment had a small patio on the side of the building sectioned off from the rest. All in all, the place seemed... decent? It wasn't as good as living was in the Kaguya Clan District, but at least she'd have neighbors that respected her now. She'd put in the effort of signing a lease with the person that owned the property--and now she had an apartment of her own. With that mindset, Yanagi moves onward, repeating her number in her head. '02. 02. 02. Right at the bottom.' She muses, heading up along the small porch and taking an immediate left to the second door near the end of that half of the bottom floor of the complex.

The Sakura unlocks the door with the first key she has on the chain, and heads on into the apartment, being met with emptiness. After just dropping some stuff on her off, Akira strides back out of the apartment and heads off, deciding to spend some of the residual funds she had. That evening is mostly spent just supplying the apartment with furniture. By the time she was done, Akira's apartment was mostly just a futon, a kotatsu, some pillows to sit on at it, general appliances and just general magazines here and there. It still wasn't much, but she didn't mind it. This was the road she chose for herself, so she'd deal with it.

Cyan optics, outlined by red eyeliner, peer into the oblong mirror locked in place upon the wall, above the sink within Yanagi's bathroom. She's opted to cover up her red gaze with contacts, cyan in color--ironic because that was the same eye color she could've had to be considered an ideal Kaguya. Not wanting to inadvertently conform to their standards, though, Yanagi's changed up her hair, too.

Her once white hair is now dyed a pale pink to contradict that very standard. She runs her hands through her new hairstyle, constantly eyeing her bangs and her general appearance. She's personally dressed in a simple, red blouse and nothing else, twisting and turning curiously. "... This is a nice fresh start." The girl states, turning on her heel and leaving the bathroom. She struts out of the room and into the main one where she has her futon and kotatsu, as well as the small shelf that she'll soon have a television on it. The female sits down before the kotatsu, folding her legs while propped upon a pillow. The female peers down at the lease paper she signed as:

    'Akira Sakura'

Of course, she had to go through the trouble of getting re-registered and what not as a Genin and such, and prove that she'd graduated and such. The Sakura quaintly slips away from the small table, opting to look through her wardrobe absentmindedly--mostly consisting of reds and whites. Among her heavy expenses (like the apartment and furniture) was clothing, and mostly changing up her previous look. Her informal garb had been traded for more militaristic and/or formal wear of those aforementioned colors.

After a long search to decide what she wanted to wear, [s]Yanagi[/s] Akira slips into a red, long-sleeved uniform with an orange tie tucked into the shirt beneath, along with white boots and black tights. Along with that outfit, she slips on a white headband with red horns upon it, figuring it would fit into her outfit and help individualize her a little more. And so, once more the former Kaguya and now-Sakura is peering into the mirror, turning and twisting in her new look. After giving herself two quick nods of approval, she strides back out of the room, and makes way for the door.

    To start anew.

Akira unlocks the door to her apartment and slides on into the residence, locking it behind her. The female tosses her key onto the sofa with an underhand throw, before slipping out of her sandals. The pinkette treads across the floorboards and sets the plastic bag within her grasp upon the table, before going to remove her coat. After she rests it upon the hangar, the pink-haired girl heads back over to the table, opening up the bag she placed upon it and taking a seat upon one of the pillows surrounding the piece of furniture.

She quaintly peers at the supplies that she's purchased, and retrieves a rather basic needle and bundle of thread, as well as some leather. With her recent development in her career, Akira had ultimately decided that she wanted to get into some armor creation, but she felt like tailoring would be a nice way to start off instead. Only problem was that she never picked up a sewing needle in her life, and actually had to buy a guide on it. It was actually silly, but figuring out how to do things shouldn't hurt.

With the guidebook pinned down on its back, opened up to a singular page, the female retrieves the roll of leather that she's purchased, and spreads it along the table, cutting out a reasonable amount to make what she wanted to try; boots. With a positive mindset following her actions, Akira gets to work. She cuts the piece of leather in several sections to make it easier, and starts off on a small bit. After some reasonable pressure, Akira shoves the sewing needle through the portion, pushing it through and carrying on to the rest, then grabbing another piece and stabbing it through that.

After a good thirty minutes or so of mostly messing up, knicking her hands and doing her best to make boots, she did come out with a final product. And to say in the least, it was fucking horrendous. She actually felt a little embarassed to bear witness to what... monstrousity of a pair of boots she'd created. They didn't even have soles, and the sewing was choppy. To say in the least, she'd done terrible.

Although she'd made something, it was definitely far different from what she expected it to turn out to be. She'd have to work on her craft before she even thought of actually wearing it, so for now she just kept it on standby, tossing it aside to try at another thing.

After actually making an effort to read the sewing guide book a little bit, the Sakura had finally made a good deal of sense of what she was doing wrong, and how she could reform it. So with the boots out of the way, the female decided that she could actually make an attempt at making soles out of them. It would be a really simple job that was just a matter of practicing some more sewing; she couldn't fuck up that bad, could she?

The female takes the same knife she was using before and shapes the soles accordingly with decent cuts, proceeding to get a good shape out of the makeshift boots. Shortly after cutting the rubber out accordingly, the female starts with actually stitching the sole itself to the empty bottom of the boot, doing the best she can with the process. It's slow and arduous but she slowly gets it attached, then cuts off the parts that were sticking out.

Following that, Kanna does the same with the other sole. It isn't long before she finished, but when she does complete this project in question she finds herself disappointed again. Her stitching had made both of the soles rather uneven in nature, and so in short she'd failed this little project of hers too, much to her distaste. Of course she tried to make little indentations and what not for it, but it just seemed to not be working.

"This is such a pain.." The female murmurs.

Since Since the boot and sole thing weren't much of a success at all, Akira just kind of figured she should give a go at something else. Following that mindset, the Sakura opts to start working on none other than a poncho. This time around she'd just be using some cloth instead of leather or rubber, so presumably it would be easier to work with. Not wanting to get her hopes up though, the female goes ahead and retrieves the same knife, cutting out a good amount of it to be used as a basis.

After getting that handled, the female continues working on it, trying to add some insulation and what not to its basis so that it could actually provide some decent warmth. Though her attempts come up with very little results, because once she's actually completed the task at hand it's still just as shit as the other two items that she created. She had managed to get a lot better at sewing over the course of these ambitious little projects, but as it stood she felt like she was horrible at tailoring.

"Bleh.... I've lost all of my drive. I'll try some other time." The female mutters to herself, before going ahead and tossing all of the stuff back into the plastic bag. She falls back and scoots a little bit, propping her head upon the pillow she was initially sitting upon and just staring at the ceiling. She didn't even feel like going to her futon to get rest. Akira was just going to sit here, maybe study this craft she was getting into, and decide if it was really for her.

Following that practice she did two days back, Akira returns to her home with several new things, mostly tucked away in her backpack with the exception of the rigged umbrella she had acquired. It stuck out from the flap that was supposed to be secured, but none the less that mattered very little. She'd decided after sticking around for a bit that things weren't going to change--at least not by staying here. It was unsafe, considering that eventually she might run the risk of being caught, and with that in mind her best course of action would just be to leave.

The woman mostly glances around her home, peering at the things that she could just leave and the other belongings she could afford to part ways with. As far as proof went, the place was spotless, aside from the pink hair dye container. She'd probably be taking that with her, though, along with the green contacts she's been wearing. All she starts to stuff more and more stuff in the backpack, the Sakura contemplates what she could do to escape. It'd be a little suspicious just to sit there and dip past the gates without an explanation, so she'd probably have to have a reason like... a mission!

The last mission she recalled doing was with Alkaid and Tsubaki, and it was the one she'd done before shit hit the fan. If she could get her hands on a mission like that she could definitely go ahead and disappear somehow, especially since it was outside of the village. Only thing she'd have to do then is get out of the Land of Water as a whole, which would be the most difficult thing since it was one massive island. 'Ugh. I'll figure it out once I get there.' She thinks to herself, making sure she had everything she wanted, and could carry. After getting that sorted out, the female heads out of the door and locks it, before kicking the key under it on the other side. She strides on out, backpack over her shoulders, to go to the administrative building and pick up her opportunity to leave.
