Kariforunia Love (ToW)

OOC: I made one big thread for this ToW given that there are less people but we can feel free to break into new threads as time goes on.

The Mountain Alliance is using the following Ships/Items: 1 Colossus, 1 Kraken, 1 Shuttle, 1 Command Ship.

For over a decade, the island of Kariforunia has floated above the northwestern province of the Earth Country without issue. The marvelous island was home to a species of gigantic sentient lizards that were under contract with the 2nd Tsuchikage Nee-san Tetsudashi. However, after Nee-san's apparent demise due to the plague, the island had lost a great deal of its vibrancy. Many of the lizards had left and those who remained were idyllic. The people of Earth Country had never been threatened by the floating landmass and indeed many engineers regularly attested to the soundness of its design. They figured that no army would be stupid or cruel enough to attempt to crash a giant island into the country they were invading.

These optimistic technologists did not account for the First Shinobi World War.

The skies darkened as a small fleet of airships approached the flying island. The command ship flew higher than the rest and in the captain's chair sat one Konami Kereko. The braided Rounin watched through the reinforced glass as her fleet finally arrived at Kariforunia Island. Any denizens on the structure would see that their defensive positions were now under attack by four ships, each bearing the banner of the Mountain Alliance. The leaders of the Minor Nation coalition had reasoned that in order to beat a Major Country at their own game, they needed to be more audacious, bold, and reckless than any other army in human history. The attempt to take down Kariforunia Island could be described as all three.

Konami gave orders to the skeleton crew being used to pilot the ship.

"Surround the island! Get the Krakken to the Southeast corner and commence firing!" she shouted.

The Krakken Airship darted out of formation and homed in on the Fuuin Barrier field that was holding up the southeastern corner of the island. The Krakken's flight pattern was erratic, it was as if a drunkard were behind its wheel. Its pilot was none other than the infamous Toonami Kereko. A tall blue haired junkie who cared little for "planning" and "protocol." The Krakken ship also housed the Mountain Alliance's "ground forces." It contained Raijin, the Dark Lord and Master of the Death Eaters as well as Ken Tetsudashi, the Walking Death and Bane of Demons. As their names indicated, they had arrived to spread a message of peace. Toonami had spawned five clones and they were all over Ken. Rubbing his muscles, feeding him olives, and getting him psyched up for the battle. The real Toonami called out to Ken and Raijin.

"Hold on lover boy! This is gonna be a bumpy ride... you too scary looking Society guy!"

Toonami did a few barrel rolls in the air before settling 500 meters away from the Field Barrier. Now that the Krakken was in position, the games could begin.

"FIRE!"
"FIRE!"

All 14 Chakra Diffusion Cannons glowed as they charged up. They swiveled into position aiming at the large blue barrier that was emitting a small beam underneath its corner of the island. It was one of the critical implements that was holding up the Lizard Home. The beams discharged all at once, and if successful, they'd annihilate the fuunin barrier. They were incredibly powerful. In total they were the equivalent of 1 S-Ranks and thus would be more than enough to damage but not fully destroy the infrastructure. The result would rock the island a bit.

Regardless of the beam's success, the Shuttle would approach the island closely. It dropped off its cargo: 50 Toonami Clones and 50 Konami Clones. Half of the army was rather silent while the other half was shouting explicitives. The chorus of their tirades was like a deafening roar and even from afar, one could make out the low drone of Toons. The clones rushed forwards as they spread throughout the island like a virus. Their goal was to survey the defenses and report back to their masters.

Nozomi, Iseri, Mako, and Isobu stood at the edge of the island, awaiting the battle that was sure to come. The squad of ninja were a terrifyingly effective group of Society members, who were in Iwa to bargain with the Tsuchikage for the Sage Tools. They had just so happened to be here for the start of a civil war/ invasion force and Nozomi made the decision to join in their plight. Mostly it was due to the coalition being backed by Konoha, and Kumogakure was helping Iwa protect its independence, so it aligned with her goals so far. Plus Iseri had informed Nozomi that it would be good for the Society's PR if they were to be seen protecting nations that were being attacked by others.

Of course, Nozomi was a well known figure, and immediately would be one of the first people that would be seen as a threat on Iwa's side. She wore one of the finest kimono out there, a top notch craft from Okane that was unrivaled in quality. The kimono was black, but had a slight shine to it, the midnight ore that was laced through it adding to the aesthetic. Of course, it wasn't the only bit of gear that she wore, but it was the most impressive piece. Another of her signature pieces was the Ebony tanto that she had received from Okane when she became his biggest investor. Unlike usual, however, that was more or less all of her gear. She was often seen wearing much more gear, so the lack of it this time was perhaps an indicator that she never really needed it in the first place.

Iseri was less known, but she was Nozomi's personal assistant, a former assassin who had found herself in the employ of the Society some years before. Geared up for battle, she was the opposite of Nozomi, carrying a ton of different weapons and tools to use. She was the least combat oriented here, someone who didn't have a ton of experience with chakra but was a peak physical human without it.

Mako was significantly less armed than Iseri, although he did have a complete steel set of Samurai armor covering his body, and a full Daisho set- A matching Katana, Wakizashi, and Tanto. The man was a samurai from the Land of Iron who swore to follow Nozomi and keep her safe so that the Society's goals of policing the world and holding the villages accountable could ultimately be achieved. He saw this attack from Konoha and the minor nations as verification that the Society was ultimately needed to bring about peace to the world. War would need to be swift, but ultimately, justice would win out.

Isobu was unarmed himself, but he wore some basic leather armor of his own. It wasn't completely necessary, but the armor helped him feel more like he was at home in his human form. This body was a creation that didn't have the shell that Isobu was used to having, so the armor felt more like a shell to him at least.

Nozomi saw the ships incoming long before they got there. Several miles out, she could see them incoming from quite the distance away, long before engagement distance. The advantage of a bird's eye view was that little could actually block their sight. Forming the seal for clones, Nozomi made two clones who sat down and began to meditate, gathering senjutsu chakra each. She was going to make sure that she was topped off on chakra as long as possible. "It's time to begin. Isobu, time for us to fly. Mako, Iseri, coordinate with Masaru to keep this place defended from any boarding troops."

Mako and Iseri took off to go assist in the general defense, while Isobu laid a hand on Nozomi. "Ready when you are little one." Nozomi gave a nod, and felt her body begin to lift. Isobu himself also lifted off the ground, and the two of them began to fly at breakneck pace towards the ships, intercepting them before they could actually reach even a kilometer of the Island. Nozomi made sure to stay within a kilometer of the clones so that they wouldn't disappear, although she was toeing the limits of the distance.

"This island is under my protection. Turn back now!" Nozomi shouted. Ready for anything, she activated her Sage Mode, gaining a small change of some eyeliner near her eyes, but apart from that looked fairly normal. Nobody knew what her sage mode looked like, nor that she had mastered the Sage Arts, as it wasn't something she'd used before against anyone, so unless Rin had said something, she should still be completely fine with it as a secret tool.

Forming the snake seal, Nozomi mixed in some of her chakra and the natural chakra of the world, utilizing a powerful version of Water Heaven's Convergence, making it a Sage Art technique. The natural water from the clouds and moisture in the air began to form and coalesce around her for 200 meters of distance. If any ship tried to ignore her and continue towards the island, the water in the air would form onto the ship and pierce deep gashes into the hulls, aimed primarily towards the thrusters so she could bring them down as quickly as possible.

To be honest, the flying ships were slightly a concern to Nozomi. Technology was advancing quite rapidly, and it was fairly concerning. Between Okane's Emporium, and Dhark Industries, there was bound to be a technological war of some kind that wasn't exactly the best for the world in some ways, even if it was in others.

Masaru couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the ships coming over the horizon, not on the water but the air itself. He had heard rumors of such feats, but the only thing he had ever witness was the floating island itself and the merchant city of Okane. Neither of which held any weaponry or a threat, yet now the mountain men have brought them to try to bring down the Karifornia Island. It seems as though if you have something someone else wants and you don't let them have it, they try to take it or destroy it. Masaru had heard rumors of the mountain village finding a benefactor to fund their exploits, as they attack the floating island of the Earth Country.

Masaru stood a top of a tall tree in the center of the island wearing only his coat and pants as was his normal attire, his feet bare and only Soulstring and Devorakos on his belt. Not that anyone would see him as he used his Hiding in Camouflage Technique, he wasn't sure he would be able to stop what was coming at his land but as long as there was breath in his lungs he would not stop trying. Even if the unthinkable were to happen and the island fell, Masaru had to hope that Mitsu and Chen were able to get everyone below to safety. He had to believe in his Queen and his Protege, she held the faith of their people and he held a power even Masaru did not fully understand. If anyone could save their people they could, he just had to ensure they had time to do so if he was unable to stop them.

Masaru would watch as two individuals took off from the island as they moved to intercept the ships, he recognized the technique it was one of Iwa's. His eyes would narrow as he watched them, wondering who they were and how they knew his village's exclusives. Unfortunately they were moving away from him so he couldn't really see their faces, he did however see the four individuals they had left on the island. Two of them sitting and mediating, while the other two stood near them watching the other two flying towards the ships. He would not move from where he was, his vantage point from atop the tree he would be able to see all around the island. It was possible these AirShips were a distraction, he would scan the island as well as the air around it looking for any signs of an attack from another front.

Ken stood tall on the ship as he prepared with his wonderful girl, her sister, and Raijin, they were to sink this flying island which would cause the death of hundreds of thousands of people. It did not bother Ken to do this, he was offered good money and he was tired of the major nation's politics and hypocrisy. They screamed at his actions, yet they always did stuff equal to if not worse then his actions. So them crying foul while doing such horrible crimes simply made him laugh.

The ship would take a hard right as they came toward the island with Toonamis crazy driving, he would hold her around the waist as she steered the ship into position. This was when he heard a familiar voice, it was Nozomi giving a warning, well well it appeared his luck had run out and he had run into the one person that despised him the most.

"Is that you Nozomi, oh man who thought we would meet here, and teaming up with Kumo, well I see where your hypocrisy lies. You call me a monster yet you team with that disgusting nation taking down the weaker minor nations, I fight for freedom, you fight for the enemy of the world. I at least won't side with such scum as Kumo, I would never work for that nation. Do you know that crazy ass cult they have, I do they tried to try me for laws that don't exist in this world, and they hold my daughter hostage, not that you have looked into that yet."

He was taunting her, he wanted to get her attention so the other ships would have an easier time sinking the island, draw all her fury and anger in order to make the rest of the mission go off, but this was a very hard fight they likely could not win and he knew it. He would simply sigh as he would begin to prepare his muscles tightening as he would move to the front of the ship, he wanted to fight her off the boat as any battle there would destroy it. The question was how would he get to her before he would smile at Toonami, he had a plan, it was crazy but it could work.

"Toonami get as close as you can to the island, I plan to leap onto it and battle Nozomi there, you keep trying to take out the seals, I know she wants to fight me but we have a mission you need to accomplish. I will see you later babe but get us close enough."

He would give her a kiss before appearing to wait to leap as soon as they got close enough, with his strength he could jump much further then a normal person could. He would take a deep breath as a sudden surge of chakra welled up inside his body before he would leap off the ship and rocket-like speeds aiming to land on the island. He would not land on top no he would aim to land near the seal and battle Nozomi there, the damage they would cause would cause the seal to be destroyed and if she tried to aim long distance at him she would cause damage to the seal as well. He would simply smile and wait to see what she had planned.

Jutsu and Stats:

Nozomi wasn’t the only one enjoying the advantages of a birds eye view.   Ryuko was currently standing in full gear on the roof of the shuttle craft she had borrowed in order to reach the island.  Her assistant Sister Washi kneeling at her side acting as a lookout with her superb eagle eyes.   The scout might not be much combat wise but she surpassed the Raikage in one aspect of perception which was incredibly useful as it allowed her to spot the incoming fleet of airships long before they could reach the island.

“One Dreadnaught, One Colossus, One Kracken and One Shuttle Confirmed.” muttered Sister Washi.  Her main job today was to act as an early warning system and call out targets.  Since it didn’t look like anything else was on the Horizon she slipped her slim form through the hatch taking a seat beside the pilot which was Ryuko’s other assistant and Lady in waiting Sophie.

The reason  Sister Washi knew exactly what kind of ships they were was because they were the same as the ones Ryuko had undergoing construction right now.   The Raikage thought she’d been ahead of the game but somehow someone had beaten her to the punch which was extremely aggravating.

Considering the vast amount of money she’d invested into the building the hanger that was necessary for housing such a fleet not to mention the ships themselves she had to wonder just how such a ramshackle alliance had managed to scrape up enough funds to build such a thing in the first place.

“I knew this wasn’t just some rebels stirring up trouble.” She muttered to herself as she ordered the shuttle on an intercept course.  It had no weapons with which to take on the fleet but it frankly didn’t need them when it had the Queen of the Kingdom of Thunder riding on top.   As one of the few X class ninja in the world she alone was all that was needed to face an entire fleet all on her own if needed.

She could have used the Kraken that she had brought with her to help but she wanted to keep it in reserve in case some of the fleet managed to slip past her which was entirely possible if they broke formation and split up.  Sophie set the shuttle off on an intercept course that would allow the airship to arrive on the field shortly after Nozomi did in an attempt to prevent that eventually from happening.

If possible given how expensive she knew they were to make, she wanted to capture as many of them as possible for her own use but she had no compunctions about sinking the entire fleet in one shot if she saw the opportunity.   For her saving lives came first before saving money and she absolutely couldn’t allow them to crash the island she had come to examine.  The sheer amount of damage that would insure if she failed would be beyond catoshotpic.

She had come here today for two things.  To first was to speak to the Tsuchikage about how she wanted to help his village and country maintain its independence.   She absolutely did not want it to fall into Kohana hands once more which would disrupt the balance of power between the five major nations and put her burgeoning nation in a bad position surrounded by foes on all sides.  

Before the hidden villages had been formed a few decades ago the Land of lightning and Earth hadn’t always gotten along but today they were the second best option for securing a peace deal with after Suna which was only first due to being the furthest away which meant they had the least competing interests.  

The second reason was because she wanted to know more about this island itself and how it floated in the sky. Mainly because she wanted to replicate that ability for herself for the Royal palace.  Not having to worry about it crashing down to earth if the mooring masts where destroyed would let her sleep easier at night.

Her being her today of all days felt like something of a cosmic coincidence.  A very happy event for Ryuko herself at the chance to run into the person so most wanted to see in the entire world but something for the survivors of the enemy fleet would surely rue assuming there even would be any after she was done with them.

“Wait is that Nozomi at twelve o'clock ?” asked Sister Washi uttering worlds that made the Queen’s heart sing. Allowing herself a slight smile at the sight of her most desired one moving to make her own interception she tried her best to focus on the task at hand.  First came business and then pleasure.    They’d have the opportunity to talk once the danger to the floating island had passed.

While Nozomi was coming at the fleet from head the shuttle Ryuko was on coming from the side taking advantage of a blindspot in the ships design to approach as closely as possible before being noticed visually.  The effectiveness of this was debatable if they had a sensor onboard or were fully staffed but it seemed either luck or fate were on her side today as they’d lacked both.

Approaching at 30 meteres she could hear Ken as he was in the middle of his speech.  She wasn’t sure if she’d ever met the man before, but hearing someone who was close to being the devil incarnate himself call her village scum caused something inside of her to snap.

As a Vestal of Hakken Ryuko was someone who was usually a paragon of graciousness.   The type of person who could extend a hand of friendship to just about anyone but now she had become like the spirit of vengeance incarnated as she vowed within her heart to bring that butcher to justice.

Nozomi had offered them a warning giving them a chance to retreat despite the fact that if they achieved their objective they would murder untold numbers of innocenets.   Today the Priestess would not extend them such kindness, She would strike hard and fast to end this battle before it even had a chance to truly begin.

Channeling Chakra to the ring on her finger she silently called forth the biggest summon she had in her arsenal the colossal 80 meter tall turtle kaiju Gamera in all of his glory directly above the enemy Kracken Ken was riding making it almost seem tiny in comparison.

With a mighty Roar that Gamera fired his Vernier jets out of the back of his shell coming crashing down on the ship at the maximum speed he could achieve doing his best to ensure they wouldn’t be able to weave out of the way in time with a last minute maneuver.   If he connected his sheer weight would be more than enough to sink the ship taking the enemy’s entire landing part out of the fight in one decisive blow.  He had even gone so far as to withdraw his head into his shell and spinning rather then simply belly flopping to ensure that if he conected he would deliver the maximum amount of damage possible to the Kracken.

While this was happening Ryuko took her spear, a weapon that had been made to slay and readyed it in preparation to throw it flowing medial chakra to her arm muscles in order to be able to hurl it as hard as possible.  Taking a page from Nozomi’s own book she used a deviation of her crushe’s signature fighting style as her arm thrust forward launching the Shikenri out with the maximum amount of force she could muster letting it fly straight at the centre of the enemy shuttle almost as if it was a bolt of lightning launched by Hakkin himself.  

She was attempting to cleave the shuttle in half, knocking it straight out of the sky before it could deliver it’s deadly load.  She would allow none of the enemy to step one foot on the island under her protection.  Unlike say the Dreadnaught which she wanted to capture the most, Shuttles were cheap enough that she wasn’t concerned in the least about preserving it.

To be fully honest if Nozomi wasn’t here she might have opted for a more stubble approach but the presence of her crush had incentivized her to go all out.   She knew Nozomi was a woman who appreciated strength above almost all else and so was trying to flex in order to show off and attract her attention and admiration.

A fleet of ships, flying through the sky. Raijin had just finished downing a bottle of cheap liquor. He needed it to quiet the dark thoughts coming from the Zero Tails. It was he who had convinced him to do this job. A job with terrible consequences, but would bring the greatest joy to the dark spirit in him. Maybe this would finally sate its immeasurable thirst. The liquor would help him focus on the battle to come. After a few unnecessary barrel rolls, he made his way out onto the deck. The former Kazekage was decked out in an all black ninja gi. On his person was the Kusangai blade on his side and all his ninja tools. The Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror were attached to his avatar state. He was already in his Second state, brimming with the power of the Dragons and the Cursed Ones. Toonami had brought the Krakken ship out of formation so that it honed in on the Fuin Barrier protecting the island. They were about 1 kilometer away so they also had a view on the enemy if they should approach.

Toonami gave the order, and the ship erupted with a blazing noise. The chakra cannons were set loose and it vibrated the entire ship. It held a sizeable power for a ship. The attack went unperturbed towards its designated target. While they were getting set loose, Raijin did not speak much to the others. He was never in a talkative mode, but when she spoke to him he merely nodded.

As he was focusing on the sky ahead of them. Clear skies allowed him with his eagle eye, to spot something he hadn't planned on seeing. Nozomi. Apparently his sensei was flying from the island, this boded ill for the Mountain alliance. They had no idea how to stop her. Raijin looked around for more possible reinforcements. There was no telling what deals she had made with Iwagakure ninjas.

He would allow Nozomi to go through. She would have to be someone else's problem for now. It seemed Ken was eager to do battle with him. He didn't really know how to feel about the Walking Death. Normally his atrocities would not rub him the right way, however the Zero tails loved it. However he felt it was unfortunate he would have to face Nozomi. He knew that senseless plight, as he had always lost to her. Nozomi ordered them to surrender as she was protecting this island. Raijin smirked, these crazy people would not do that. As he was slowly becoming one of them, the thought of this much carnage was to much to pass up. Even facing certain death. Then she performed a jutsu that swelled quite a lot of water into the air. Projecting some type of water barrier to stall their progress. This would be problematic.

Raijin had mastered both the Dragon Sage Mode and the Sage Transformation. This allowed him to stay in his full and second state forms even greater periods of time. On cue, there was a ship attempting to hide in the depths of the air. While Nozomi was yelling at them. The shuttle ship attempted to flank them, they were alerted of course. Raijin was able to see it from their vantage point.

The Dark One wasted no time. "I'll take care of this one." (Raikage challenge woot woot!) Whomever was on the shuttle was probably as strong as Nozomi as they were simply on a shuttle ship. He jumped off the side of the ship activating his full form and his Sage Kata as well. Great and powerful invisible Dragon wings appeared on his back, making him a Master of Air. Flying through the sky he would rush to meet them at 100 meters away well before they came towards their ship. For a seperate battlefield.  He dipped down as to not brush the Krakken with this stunt. As he flew about 20 meters away, a very obvious transformation took place.

Raijin finally giving the Zero-Tails his due process, and unleashing his likeness to the world The Tailed Beast Mode began to take form over Bayushi. A terrific presence could be felt by all as a large leech like creature erupted. A menacing black chakra  remade itself into the Zero Tails itself. Four black hands, were created from the side of its body. One had the Yata Mirror attached to it the top right arm, the top left reached to the red gourd on his side. The hilt of Totsuka Blade could be felt in its hand, and he pulled it out. The red and liquid chakra blade formed outwards as Raijin held the blade outwards. It was around 50 meters from the shuttle ship, that the dark spirit would attack.

With the shield protecting him from all attacks foreign and home, it would be held securely. The right hand wielding the Totsuka Blade would stretch out all of a sudden. Using the range of the Shadow Arms, the arm would snap forward. Aiming to destroy the ship with a single stab of his blade. Adding to the confusion he would activate the extension on the Totsuka Blade which was incredibly fast. Now making the blade bigger and wider for another 15 meters. Making the blade 30 meters long by extension. He would add his Senjutsu into this effort making its power much greater. This vicious move could reach well over 80 meters.

This would obliterate the face of their shuttle ship unless its occupants could stop him. This meant they would be his next challengers.

The ships had gotten a kilometer from the the island when they were hailed by Nozomi and a group of her minions. Neither Toonami nor Konami was in the mood to surrender, not even to the infamous Nozomi Himitsu. Konami replied over the loudspeakers:

"I'm sorry Nozomi but we cannot do that. A contract is a contract. I'm sure you under-"
"FUCK YOU!" Toonami cried as she throttled the ship forwards in blatant violation of Nozomi's warning.

Toonami respected Nozomi's skill and her sense of independence but ultimately the girl was a total stick in the mud. She had these lofty goals of changing the nature of the global order and they reeked of naivety. Whatever the Society had put into her noggin had her sounding like a total fool. When Ken mocked Nozomi for hypocritically siding with a theocratic state, she laughed. After Ken communicated his plan to her she nodded. She loved it when he took charge of a situation.

"On it babe!"

Toonami, without thinking, made a beeline for the island. She practically ignored the water barrier between her and her target. Fortunately, Toonami could rely on her sister to do the thinking for her. Konami charged the cannons and fired earlier than planned but their target was not the barriers but instead the Water Heaven's Convergence wall. She fired all of the beams directly into the water hoping to weaken it significantly. Seeing that more was needed, Konami abandoned her post in the ship and ran out to the deck of the ship. She made the Tiger Seal and cast the Rising Water Slicer jutsu. The linear wave cutting a path through the weakened convergence wall just in time for the shuttle and Krakken to squeeze through. Both ships continued forwards when a projectile rocketed into view.

"A little help!" Toonami shouted.

The Colossus ship fired all of its beams at the spear with the intention of skirting its trajectory. The Krakken added to it to help. The object itself appeared to be invincible but by concentrating fire on it, the spear could be moved and thus avoided. If successful, the Krakken would get close enough for Ken to hop onto the island. The shuttle would drop off the Toon and Kon clones as well.

When Konami looked into the sky and saw a massive turtle hurtling towards the Krakken, she piloted her own ship to fall within range of her own planned jutsu and formed the Ram seal in anticipation for what was about to come next. The blonde twin spewed a massive amount of water from her mouth. The waves rocketed into the sky aiming to counter the falling Turtle. The attack wasn't designed to pierce the turtle's shell but rather to slow its descent and to soften its exterior for the inevitable follow-up. As Konami squirted, the ship moved with the intention of clearing the turtle's fall zone.

What the hell is wrong with this world? 1,000 Puppets and now falling turtles?

"Then what happens next is your fault." Nozomi said, as Konami and Toonami spoke up. She hadn't quite been expecting to hear from them as her enemy, and to boot, they had Raijin and Ken Tetsudashi. Her focus on the ship intensified. While before she had been planning on allowing a retreat, she hadn't been aware of Ken's involvement. Her mind changed immediately.

Konami had stepped onto the deck of the ship, launching attacks and chakra cannons at Nozomi's water barrier, and they attempted to barrel through it, but Nozomi wasn't really one to allow people to ignore her. She formed a few hand seals at rapid speeds and held up her hand, easily tracking the ship's path. Letting loose the massive torrent of electric current, she sought to tear a hole through the engine and hull of the ship. Viper's Wrath was a powerful Raiton jutsu that Nozomi had designed that shaped the Raiton like a massive serpentine dragon. Nozomi's attention shifted momentarily to Ryuko, an interesting feeling in her chest, but then she turned back to the Krakken, and to Ken. Ryuko and Nozomi could talk later, but they were both preoccupied.

Konami was focused on launching the massive torrent of water up to stop the giant turtle from crashing into the ship, but she couldn't stop them both at the same time. The Krakken ship would drop down massively in speed, but its course had been set, momentum would likely draw the ship closer to the island. If Toonami left fast enough, she may even get herself onto the island, but the ship would be dropping much too fast to actually make it to land on the island. Of course, it would smash into the ground below, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the island dropping, and evacuation was in effect anyhow.

Ken had launched himself onto the island himself, and Nozomi would rocket towards it, landing on the island about 15 meters away from Ken. Isobu would end his effect on Nozomi, returning her center of gravity to her, and then would fly out to cut off the shuttle, which had opened up to reveal a massive troop of clones on the island. His involvement would primarily be to hold off as many of the clones as he could, providing a ground force. Of course, he also had been given the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu, and would counter them with his own. Using 100 of them, they'd all find a clone to duke it out with, with him floating above, keeping an eye on the battle and directing them.

Nozomi faced off against Ken, her clones still off gathering Nature Chakra, having been undisturbed, but she didn't respond to his taunting. She really couldn't care less what he thought of her, nor did she need to justify herself to him. However, his retribution was at hand. She took up a combat stance and waited for him to make the first move against her. A dome of water had formed around the area, cutting them off from others and forming a 50 meter wide shield near the fuuin barrier, but neither of them were quite on it. Of course, a ship could blast it, but Ryuko or Masaru honestly could deal with the ships. And the ship actually launching attacks towards them would endanger Ken, something she knew Toonami and Konami wouldn't really want. It would be best to leave them alone.

"Alright, you wanted to single me out, then it's your grave." Of course, all of his taunts had been wrong. Nozomi's siding with Iwagakure was because Konoha was attempting to subjugate it. She'd teamed with Iwagakure to weaken Konoha's hold on their nations. She was protecting the island so that innocents weren't dragged into the war. Kumogakure was on the right side of this, protecting a weakened nation, although Ken's daughter was another matter. She wasn't fully siding with Kumogakure, she was siding against the Mountain Alliance, and against Konoha in this regard. It didn't guarantee her loyalty in every aspect, and the fact that Ken couldn't understand that meant he was an idiot not worth her time to explain it to. Besides, he wouldn't live past this day anyhow, so indulging his taunts was pointless.

Mako and Iseri were busy trying to find the Tsuchikage, but they weren't having much luck, realistically speaking as he was currently stealthed. However, Mako was dressed in his Samurai gear, as he was originally from the Land of Iron, so perhaps that would allow Masaru to gauge them as allies, and direct them as he wished to.

Once he was sure there was no signs of attacks from other directions, Masaru would turn his attention back to the scene of the AirShips. It would seem that another joined the flying pair on an Airship of her own, the man had no idea so many people were interested in his country. It would cause the man to wonder if the ones who were now standing in defense of this island only did so for their own claim to come later, or were they truly on the side of a free earth country. Masaru's thoughts would be pushed to the side as the scene before him erupted as the AirShips fired off blasts that looked like pure energy at the wall of water the flying pair had created. Watching in amazement at the sight of gigantic turtle appearing above one of the ships, there was so much going on it became hard to keep track of it all but the ship was going down.  Dropping his Camouflage as he approached the samurai and the others with him, "I don't know who you are or why your people are defending this island, but thank you. We must Protect the seals at all cost, this island cannot fall." Masaru would move so that he would be between where anyone on the crashing airship would land on the island and the Fuuin seal on the opposite side where Nozomi and Ken were. Seeing the man form a hundred clones to battle the twin clones coming from the shuttle, Masaru would draw Devorakos before looking to the Samurai. "I hope you know how to use that blade." He remarked as he flipped the blood bringer to a reverse grip as he readied himself for what was to come, he had faced a Technique like this before, he knew having this many clones meant that they didn't have much chakra between them. If they came towards Masaru all he had to do was touch them with his blade and they would go poof, but he hoped the real ones would be somewhere in the mix.

"We're hit! Fuck!"Toonmai shouted as an arc of electricity tore the ships hull and engine. The aircraft had just made it near the island. It was barely  room to jump but the acrobatic drug addict abandoned her controls and leapt from the smoking craft and onto the solid ground of the island. Konami likewise fled her own ship and landed onto the dirt ground of Kariforunia Island. The pair were about 50 meters from the mass clone skirmish. As their clones popped, they realized that another person was using the same technique to counter their duplicates. If they continued down that road then they'd be stuck in a charka arms race that they were sure to lose. Konami wasn't surprised. The individual appeared to be an associate of Nozomi's and given that she had been the one to grant them possession of Konoha's scrolls, it was expected that she'd extent the same opportunity to her own trusted subordinates. Konami found her respect for Nozomi rising. A true warrior created assets around them so that when it came time to fight, they'd have reliable tools at their disposal.

Toonami took off in the direction of the southwest Fuuin barrier. Konami did not follow her sister. They had four barriers to destroy. The Raikage was against them as was Nozomi which meant that the odds were not in their favor. If they wanted any hope of success they'd need to be strategic about their allocation of troops. While the bulk of the clones engaged Isobu, Toonami would sneak past and eventually arrive at the southwestern barrier. The Colossus had the same idea. After narrowly dodging the turtle, the giant ship aimed its cannons at the barrier and shot a solid beam of energy at the barrier. Simultaneously, Toonami would unleash a torrent of blows on the barrier using Chakra Enhanced Strength. The combination was five in number and each was loosed with enough power to rock the structure. If successful, the blows would put put the southwestern field out of commission. Konami would sneak to the northeast and do the same thing.

Toonami and Konami successfully destroyed the Fuuinjutsu fields at the opposing ends of the floating island. Their knowledge of physics and structural engineering told them that this would put the is on an uneven tilt without totally collapsing it one direction or another. They still had two more bubbles to destroy and they couldn't afford to disrupt their plane of combat completely. Once the bubbles crumpled under the weight of their superhuman blows, the energy emitted below winked out and Kariforunia Island shuddered for a moment. Everyone that was physically present on the terrain would be aware that something was wrong. The island began to slowly drop before re-stabilizing. The last few fields were working harder to compensate but so long as they remained in-tact, the people down below were not in mortal danager.

"Now this is where the fun begins" Konami muttered to herself as she made a dash to her next target: the northwest fuuin barrier.

"FUCK YEAH!" Toonami screamed as she sprinted to the southeastern barrier. Unfortunately, the southeastern barrier was closer to where Isobu was fighting the myriad of Twin clones. She figured she might have to fight him and if so she'd be sure to leave a lasting physical impression.

Nozomi's barrier dropped, the water she had been controlling spreading out around the ground. She no longer looked like the normal little blonde girl that she usually did. Her body was a pale whitish grey, all the pigmentation in her skin having disappeared. Her eyes had changed from their usual Blue with green dots and a ring, to yellow vertically slitted eyes. Her body had gained a scale like surface. A black hue had spread from around her eyes, disappearing into the scales that were around the sides of her face. A single horn grew from her forehead, and her hair had turned a light blueish color, standing as if on fire.

She was surrounded by a barely visible cyan aura, with blood dripping off one of the two tanto in her hands. Just finished from her fight with Ken, his body no longer on the island as she'd launched his corpse off the side, Nozomi had turned her sights to the fighting clones, Isobu having been doing his job holding them off.

Isobu had been flying above the fight, keeping an eye on things, but had been distracted while watching the ship crash and the twins head off. He looked to Nozomi, who nodded in the direction of the northern remaining fuuin barrier. She had things well taken care of here, and needed to stay in case Raijin tried to slip away and blast this one. Her instruction was all he needed. Having spent years with her, he knew her quirks well enough to know what she meant.

Nozomi spotted out Toonami, and sheathed her ebony tanto, quickly discarding the tanto she'd made with the kimono into the ground by her feet, the blade sinking into the ground deep enough that it would require massive amounts of strength to withdraw. She didn't need weaponry to deal with Toonami. The Kereko had previously seen Nozomi in her Chakra Mode, a similar flame around her, but the way she looked now was distinctly different, the flame like aura not surrounding her entire body. While the color was the same, she was likely smart enough to know that it was different.

Nozomi closed her eyes and breathed out of her nose. Her blood calmed down and she centered herself. Releasing the hold on Sage mode, she returned to her normal state, hair turning blonde and color moving back into her body. The horn disappeared, and the scales faded out until none remained. Nozomi didn't hate Toonami, so she had no real care to kill her. Using all of her power would be an insult to Nozomi's skill. Opening her eyes up as she returned to normal, Nozomi settled into a rather basic stance, not using any taijutsu skills.

Nozomi's single clone remained seated near the edge of the island, still gathering Nature Chakra. This would more than likely be the last bit she was gathering though, as Nozomi wouldn't need more than that throughout the remainder of the fight. On standby for the time being, she simply observed.

Isobu tore off into the sky, flying through the air to head off to the other fuuin barrier, his clones having just about finished mopping up the battle. With equal strength and coordination to the twins, they'd been fighting about even, so they wiped each other out more or less evenly speaking. It left the board for just Nozomi and Toonami.

With his ability to fly and the disparity between his speed and Konami's, in addition to her having to travel on the ground and through streets, he'd easily surpass her and land ahead of her about a block ahead.

Mako and Iseri hadn't been still of course. Masaru had welcomed their aid, but was standing by for the time being. Mako replied in the affirmative that he knew how to use his blade, but when the two barriers went down, they knew that Nozomi would have the one she was fighting at secured. Deciding to head up to the last remaining northern barrier, they had already arrived ahead of time, spotting out Isobu flying up ahead. When he landed before reaching it, Mako made the call to head out and join him. It was a possibility that he'd need the help.

Toonami rushed to get to the southeastern barrier but as she did so, she had been keeping an eye on the fight between her future hubby and Nozomi. Toon was fairly certain that Ken would hold her off long enough for them to complete their mission. At worse, he ought to be able to get away before Nozomi could kill him. He had been living life on the lamb for years with the greatest of ninja hunting him. Nozomi was a combat goddess sure, but Ken had survived worse. Or so Toonami thought. When Nozomi Himitsu cut her man down and chucked him off the side of the island like a piece of spoiled meat, she froze. The long strides she had been taking slowed and then ceased entirely as she gazed at the trail of blood that had been leaking from his eyes and neck.

"Ken...."

Toonami's eyes went wide with shock. No. It had been over so fast that she couldn't even process the loss. A pain cut through her heart. It reached so deep that it might as well have mutilated her very soul. It was as if she was in a trance. A nightmare. This wasn't the first time she had watched a lover die. She had seen some overdose, some killed in street brawls, and some hang themselves when they realized she no longer cared for them. The best they could hope for what that she'd be sad for a few days and at worse she'd laugh at their mangled corpse. They had all meant something to her, just not much in the grand scheme of things. Ken was different. Ken understood her. He knew what she was and he loved her more passionately than she had ever been loved before. When he asked her to stop using heroin, she listened. When he said he might want kids one day, she actually considered it as a real possibility. She didn't care what the rest of the world said about him. It was all filled with hypocrites and control-freaks anyways. The same scum that wanted to keep people like her and Ken down. He promised that they'd have the last laugh in the end. That they'd live fast and free until it was their time to go. And unlike any boyfriend and girlfriend she had had before, Toonami actually believed him.

".........Ken........KEN!!!!" she screamed. Toonami was so impulsive that she instantly split off from the real version of herself. Fission allowed her to create an identical copy with unlimited range which was good because she'd need it if she was going to save him. She wasn't going to give up on her love just yet. Toonami II made a break for the edge of the island while the original remained rooted to her position as she tried to wrestle with the loss. A moment passed and then she screamed with such primal rage that even Konami heard it from across the island.

The blonde Twin stopped in her tracks and turned her head to the source of the scream. "Toonami?" she had never heard her sister scream like that before. Ever. There was only one thing that could cause something like that and Konami could immediately guess what. She hadn't been watching Ken's fight with Nozomi but she knew it was bound to end poorly. She had underestimated just how poorly it would go and if she didn't act fast then she wouldn't have a chance to calm Toon down before she did something rash. In a split second, Konami's priorities shifted and she broke away from the fuuin barrier. She was running towards the direction of the shout but as she did so, she saw her sister's duplicate making a beeline for the edge of the island. It didn't take her long to put two and two together. Toonami was beyond reckless and subject to acting out of emotion. They had gotten so lucky for so long but Kon knew that eventually they'd roll snake eyes.

"TOONAMI D-"

She was too late. The duplicate jumped over the cliff with absolutely no plan on how to save Ken. Not that there was a Ken to save. The man was already dead and by the time Toonami came to grips with that, she would be a smear of innards alongside his own. Konami leapt off the cliff after Toonami II and utilized the Soft Body Modification technique to stretch her arm out long enough to grab Toonami's ankle just before it went out of range. The other hand gripped the edge of the cliff stretching her to her absolute limit. The pain and focus required to stay on the island and keep her sister from plummeting to her death was excruciating. The focus was all-consuming. Yet she still managed to find strength to scold her only sister.

"You dumb bitch!" Konami said. It was a rarity for her to curse at her own sister.
"Fuck you, let me die!" Toonami II wailed in between sobs. The clone was crying hysterically and was in no state to reason.
"He's gone Toonami, you don't have to go with him!" Konami started to retract her elongated limbs. Slowly....slowly does it.... if Nozomi's henchmen decided to attack them, they were truly screwed.

Toon's response was disjointed and incoherent. This was bad. If they somehow survived this then Konami would have to lock up her sister and throw away the key. At this rate, Toonami was going to kill herself. Konami was sure of it.

The real Toonami was ignorant of her older sister's plight. She was ignorant of much around her. The duplicate had taken her rage, anger, and defiance. It had left nothing more than a husk in its wake. Toon was staring into space. She was looking past Nozomi, past the island, past it all. She had just lost the one man who had given her hope for a life beyond chaos. She didn't even know she had wanted that until she met him. Everything else seemed so irrelevant. So pointless.

"............."

Toon reached into one of the many pouches located on her short shorts and retrieved a bottle of pills.

Nozomi was looking for a fight, but she'd be quite disappointed. Toonami wasn't interested in fighting her, and decided to split off from herself and launch down after Ken's body. Shortly after, Konami ran off the edge as well, stretching out to catch her and the ledge. It was all rather confusing how they were reacting. She had warned them after all. This was war, and in war people died.

Isobu, Mako, and Iseri weren't required to fight Konami either, as she pulled off and went back to the sound of her sister. They stayed put, shifting back to the fuuin barrier so that they could protect it, and basically went on standby at that point.

Nozomi watched as all the fight in the other Toonami had gone out at that point. She'd stopped, and pulled out a bottle of pills. Keeping an eye on her, Nozomi moved over to where Konami and Toon's fission were dangling over the edge. Looking down at them, Nozomi frowned. "I gave you the chance to leave. You should have listened."

With that, she let lose a Chidori Current, which would stun Konami and deal her a good bit of damage. The damage would have done its job, sending them flying off the edge to drop down and join Ken at the ground. From there, she'd turn back to the final Toonami. Whatever boosting pills she was using, hopefully that would make it worth her time. Her patience here had run thin. The fighting wasn't fun for her against these people. Too emotional and not enough doing actual fighting. At least Ryuko and Raijin seemed to be going all out.

Dismissing her other clone straight out, Nozomi didn't need the chakra it had gathered anymore. There was no danger to her here.

Tears formed in Konami's eyes as she struggled to keep her sister's duplicate from falling to its death while also retaining her grip on the island's edge. I need more.....strength.....I can do this....just need to apply Chakra Enhanced Strength. If Konami could time it just right, she might be able to hurl her sister back on top and then climb up herself. Toonami was in no condition to help. Konami thought about making a Fission duplicate but it was too risky in a situation like this. They were outnumbered and if someone killed second Konami it would leave her crippled for life. The elder twin focused chakra into her arm and began to swing Toonami back and forth but before she could vault Toonami II back over, Nozomi appeared.

The doe eyed blonde said something but Konami was too agitated to really listen. She knew the girl's presence was a bad thing but she had underestimated just how bad. Konami opened her mouth in protest but nothing came out. She was great at talking her way out of death in a pinch. She could negotiate, cajole, rattle, and stall. All the verbal tactics she had learned during her years of grifting through the ninja world were her's to command. Yet now they failed her. The moment felt too real for her to respond to. Too real for her to react to. A surge of lightning struck her hand and Konami was powerless to stop it. She felt her muscles freeze up and burn out. The next thing she knew, she was falling through the sky. She watched as Nozomi receded from view. Nozomi had indeed warned them but they had gotten through so many close calls that her words might as well have been a joke. But all of the gumption and grit in the world could only carry them but so far. There were some scenarios that were too dangerous to wriggle free from.

As Konami plummeted to her death, she was oddly calm. She expected this. She knew that this would happen one day. She wanted to curse Nozomi with her dying breath but she knew it was futile. She had killed a fair amount of people in her own right or placed them in circumstances were death was inevitable. It wasn't personal, it was just business. Konami saw her still crying sister falling nearby and she made her way towards her. She hugged Toonami II while in free-fall and like a mother taking a crying child into her bosom, the blueberry twin melded inside.

"Its okay Toonami....I'm here...don't worry....I got you. I'll never leave you. Never."

Those were the last words that Konami could manage before hitting the ground.

Toonami unscrewed the cap of the pill bottle. The woman was totally oblivious to what was going on around her. It was as if someone had turned out the lights upstairs and she was now running on autopilot. Only a year ago she was celebrating her 30th birthday. To hit 30 years old in the ninja world was an astounding accomplishment, especially given the chaotic lives they had lived. The Twins did not expect to live to see thirty and yet they did. None of that mattered now. When she met Ken, she had told herself that she'd rather die than live another thirty years without him. She looked at the pills before sighing.

Where was Konami? Did it even matter?

The pills were designated as Roxocoid-19 but they were known more affectionately in the drug community as "Roxies." The pills were said to release large amounts of dopamine into the user's tenketsu thereby granting a supernatural sort of high. One pill was enough to take you on a euphoric trip that lasted hours. They were incredibly potent though and even a hardcore drug addict like Toonami had the discipline to take them only once per month. With Ken, she had cut it done to one every six months. She promised that when he was ready to settle down with her forever, she'd chuck the pills into the sea and turn her back on all of it. He was that important to her. Now that he was gone, there was no use in letting these pills go to waste. Toonami took a breath, tilted her head back, and emptied the contents of the bottle into her mouth. The white pills cascaded down her throat and into her stomach.

The high hit hard and fast. Toonami fell to the ground and started convulsing. It was the best high she had ever felt, but something was wrong. She had taken too much. She was going to die. The realization hit like a ton of bricks and less than 30 seconds into her bliss, she began to scream in horror. Suicidal remorse kicked in at full force. This wasn't the first time she had taken too much of a drug, but every time she did, she could always count on her sister to be there to bail her out. Toonami yelled:

"KONAMI! KONAMI! HELP ME!! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!! I DON'T WANT TO FU-"

She couldn't even get the rest out. Foam backed up in her throat and spilled out of her mouth as she lost consciousness. Toonami had relied on Konami for so long to act as a guardrail against her bad decisions that she no longer knew how to take responsibility for her own missteps. The consequences were quick and fatal. Toonami's pulse quickened then slowed. The fiend's heartbeat grew still. She twitched and seized then suddenly stopped. By the time the blood trickled from her nose, she was already dead.

Nozomi hadn't quite been expecting that turn of events, but it worked out in her favor. While she was disheartened to know that a battle wasn't to be had to sate her thirst for combat, it was of course expected that she would come out the easy victor, saving the ground below a terrible destruction.

She watched as Raijin miraculously claimed a victory over Ryuko before flying away, and she activated her chakra mode, leaping down to go catch Ryuko with an aided constitution. She didn't want the woman to die, so she decided to save her, now that her job here was more or less done. Once she caught Ryuko, she simply set her on a building out of harms way, before launching herself back up into the air, using her monstrous strength to clear insane distanced.

From there, she launched several jutsu at the remaining Airships, destroying them completely and ending any further use of them. Raijin had left them uncommanded, and so she faced absolutely no major threat, and they were all reduced to rubble, including the ships on Iwa's side brought from Kumo. The Airships couldn't be allowed to exist, so she didn't let them.
