Contact Explosives (爆発 ~ Bakuhatsu): Katsumi has an incredible amount of chakra control within his person, perfecting the use of flowing chakra into various inanimate objects for various purposes. What this allows, is that as long as Katsumi is in direct contact with his explosive material (clay, mud, etc...) then he can reshape it and re-prime the clay for use for his jutsu. (Does not reduce the cost of any jutsu cast nor replace any other requirements to cast a jutsu, this only allows him to essentially shape/create Bakuton jutsu from any clay so long as he has direct contact with it.) Bakuton techniques that are re-primed in this way (using direct contact and not their normal casting methods) have an increased cost of +1 rank in order to cast those jutsu.
Experience Advantage: (100 EXP) A player may start with more experience that can be applied to their total. This amount may never be enough to advance into the next class and can always fall short by 1 experience. Doing this will put the player in debt, thus all generated experience must go towards paying off that experience debt before it can be applied anywhere else.
This can also be done if a player only wishes to gain a little more experience at the start. If the player chooses to start with equal or less than 50% experience for their next class requirement only half of the generated experience will go towards this debt. This UA can only be taken at creation and may not be added later.
Appearance:
Katsumi is a pretty lithe person for the most part but does his best to stay in shape (at least in reference to his classmates). Despite any potential physical short coming, he carries himself well enough and keeps himself relatively light stepped and clean looking. His dusty blonde hair is kept fairly messy and over his ears but short enough that it doesn't go down past his neck. His clothing is usually pretty light and he keeps to jeans or simple pants and various t-shirts or jackets he wears over the top granted the weather permits. Katsumi is a pretty typical person and will (maybe not often) opt for shorts and relaxing clothing if it gets warm enough or the situation fits. His eyes are very crimson and sometimes seem to even glow out of his skull under dark or dim lit but in bright light his eyes will carry a dull and rusty color instead of the normal crimson.
History:
Katsumi was born and raised in the Land of Stone under a pair of very doting parents that loved their first and only son very much. Part of the Kotōshura Clan, he was born with his father's birthright, that one day he would learn and inherit Bakuton from his father. Unfortunately, that day would be long subsided with the collapse of Iwagakure becoming imminent, his mother pushed and father accepted an incredibly difficult decision to send Katsumi away to distant family living in the Land of Lightning. The young Katsumi, only around 8 years old at the time was told that he was going to stay there with his 'cousins' and some other family while 'things calmed down'. Mostly confused, Katsumi was left in the Land of Lightning and his parents returned to their home to address whatever would come of that situation. Spending his formative years in Iwagakure left him a bit confused at some of the traditions in the Land of Lightning and for years, through his time in the ninja academy and as an early genin, left him feeling like an outcast and outsider irregardless of how the village treated him. Constant want for his parents to return and fully explain what happened and what was going on plagued his mind. His parents wrote him early on and he would send letters back but it has now been several years since he has heard anything from them, fearing that the now war and occupation of Iwa may have left them killed but there is no real way for Katsumi to verify as things stand.
Time has advanced though, and Katsumi has learned of his birthright Kekkai Genkai on his own from what notes and books of history of his clan and people he had. Still, he is now an adult by any metric and must come to make of himself something that he can be proud of rather than continuing to dote upon the past that plagues him. Whether his family is alive or not, whether they abandoned him because of the collapse of Iwa and it's occupation or because they simply couldn't care for him, and whatever state he exists in; he must become his own man and make his way in this world.
Personality:
Katsumi seems to exist in the world with a chip on his shoulder, comparing himself to so many people in so many aspects, it seems to irk him and dig under his skin to not be at least good at a thing. Not necessarily better than anyone else, but to be bad at a thing grinds at his very soul. He can often be sarcastic, short worded, and crude but also can be sweet, caring, and a sound foundation for a friend at any time. The juxtaposition in who he his comes so greatly in feeling the need to serve so many different roles and be more than he is at all times. The child of a family that left him in a different land, whether of abandonment or for his own safety, it haunts him constantly. Feeling the need to bounce himself between that of ally to his current comrades and yet, outcast to them as well despite not being entirely treated as one has led him to the most interesting penalty of his life.
Katsumi at his core, is a liar. Rather, not of conscious and malicious deceit but finding the need to be a different person for different people. He has become an Iwagakure person who is a citizen and ninja of Kumo and yet, feels no allegiance inherently towards either land? And yet, he must be part of both in order to exist in this world. His ability to lie and deceive is bar none and for those that know it, would be able to suss it out with ease. For his closest friends, those he loves, and those that have known him for years, it is easy to see when he is playing the part of a persona rather than who he is, tell tale signs define him and yet, in Katsumi's eyes even his natural self is merely another persona he has to play to get along in the world. One day perhaps, he'll be able to shed the weight of belonging and fitting in but not until he is able to say that he has found himself.
