A Bookworm's Request

Mission:

Stuck indoors after being bamboozled by his future sensei, Nakaba shuffled from shelf to shelf from his finger chakra strings whipped around as he slung book after book to the appropriate shelves creating little stacks. He was standing by what was once a massive pile of books in a building with completely empty shelves. This feels less like a mission and more like I was set up. The thought was dismissed as quickly as it formed. It felt impossible to tell the time in this place but the sand pouring down in the hourglass told the genin that he only had ten, maybe fifteen minutes left to finish.

As the last few grains of sand fell Nakaba slotted the last book into its shelf. He was absolutely exhausted. As he returned to the front desk the doors were opening and he saw the line formed outside of the store and went as far down the street as he could see. His heart sank a little. Today was the first day to get a copy of Steps upon a Thousand Streets, a very well acclaimed, steamy novel that was released a couple of months ago in Konoha. It was apparently going to be very popular here as well.

The evening would shift eventually into night, as Nakaba handed out the last book that they had in stock. Grabbing an "Out of Stock" sign and slumping onto the counter the genin mumbled nonsense at the last few customers who were slowly dispersing. Of all of the missions I've done not a single one has been as draining as this. Nakaba slowly dripped off of the counter and into a puddle on the ground. He'd leave the library/bookstore a few hours later as he and the shop owner finished clean up, and went home under the light of the moon.
